About the art
My passion for colour is influenced by my time living and working in Florence. My paintings reference the crumbling plaster walls of the palazzos, the landscape and the exotic colours both in Renaissance art and Italian fashion. Recent work is based on landscape and strata with one colour being revealed beneath another. In my studio, I often use a plasterer’s trowel to add texture and depth. Larger pieces are cropped and edited in order to create dynamic compositions and microcosms.
